AFCAT, short for Air Force Common Admission Test, is a national-level competitive exam conducted by the IAF. It serves as a gateway for both men and women to join the Indian Air Force as commissioned officers in Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), and Ground Duty (Non-Technical) branches. The AFCAT exam is held twice a year, typically in February and August.

Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT 2 Recruitment 2024
To be eligible for this recruitment, you must meet the following eligibility criteria –
Flying Branch: Minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and Physics at the 10+2 level.Graduation (three-year degree course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.BE/B Tech degree (four-year course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:
- Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): Minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level. Four-year degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): Minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level.Four-year degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 60% marks
Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch
- Administration & Logistics: Graduation (three-year degree course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
- Accounts Branch: B.Com degree or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Education: Post: graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Meteorology: B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks or a four-year Graduation in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 60% marks.
AFCAT 2 Recruitment 2024 Age Limit
(a) Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2025 i.e. born between 02 July 2001 to 01 July 2005 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License Issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 year i.e. born between 02 July 1999 to 01 July 2005 (both dates inclusive).
(b) Ground Duty : (Technical/ Non-Technical Branches. 20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2025 i.e. born between 02 July 1999 to 01 July 2005 both dates Inclusive).

AFCAT 2 Recruitment 2024 Application fee
To apply for AFCAT 2/2024 for Flying or Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches, a candidate must deposit an amount of ₹500 using one of the provided payment gateways, irrespective of their category. Candidates applying through NCC are exempted from the application fee payment.
