Only tribal candidates who are permanent residents of the respective districts are eligible.
Educational Qualification:
Candidate should be literate, healthy, and a permanent resident of a Scheduled Tribe settlement within or near the notified forest area in the respective district.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must belong to a Scheduled Tribe and live in a forest fringe or interior ST settlement of the specified district.
- Only those fully dependent on forest resources are eligible.
- Candidates already working as temporary forest watchers and children of widowed tribal women will be given preference.
Training
Selected candidates will be provided with 3 months of mandatory training at the Forest School/Training Centre before appointment.
