 Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Constable (Veterinary, Driver, Tradesman & Nursing Orderly) posts. • Qualification: 10th class pass with Science as main subject from a recognised Board; and One year experience in treatment of different species of animals in a recognised Veterinary Hospital.

Constable (Driver) [Male Only]

• Qualification: 10th class pass from a recognised Board; and Must possess valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.

Constable (Gardener)

Constable (Nursing Orderly)

• Qualification: 10th class pass from a recognised Board; First Aid certificate course from St. John's Ambulance Organisation or Red Cross Society of India; and Working experience of minimum one year as a Nursing Orderly in a minimum fifty bedded Hospital or Institution recognised by Central/State Government.

Selection Procedure

The detailed selection procedure has been mentioned in the official notification of SSB Constable Recruitment 2026. But we are giving you here the short summary of the selection procedure. The candidates are advised to refer to official notification for selection procedure.

Selection Procedure:

Stage I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Male: 4.8 km race in 18 minutes; Female: 2.4 km race in 24 minutes. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET.

Stage I: Physical Standard Test (PST) – Candidates must meet minimum height and chest requirements as per category and post. Candidates not meeting standards will be rejected.

Stage II: Written Examination (Computer Based Test – CBT) – 2 hours duration, 100 marks, 100 multiple choice objective type questions covering General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning & General English/General Hindi. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS/OBC/Ex-Servicemen; 45% for SC/ST. Final merit will be based on written examination marks only.

Stage III: Documentation & Skill Test – Candidates up to 20 times the vacancies (category-wise) based on written exam merit will be called for document verification. Skill Test is of 50 marks; minimum qualifying marks: 60% for all categories. Trade test is qualifying in nature and marks will not be included in final merit.

Stage IV: Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME) – Candidates up to 3 times the vacancies (category-wise) based on written exam merit will be called for DME. Candidates declared unfit in DME may appeal for RME. Decision of RME Board is final.

Final Selection – Final merit list prepared category-wise based on marks in written examination after completion of RME. In case of equal marks, senior in age will be ranked higher; if DOB is also same, alphabetical order of names (English) will be used.

Fill in the online application form with all required details including personal information, educational qualifications, and postal/permanent address.

Upload a passport-size colored photograph (JPG, less than 12 kb, greater than 4 kb, 100×120 pixels, white background) and signature (JPG, less than 12 kb, greater than 4 kb, 140×60 pixels).

Pay the examination fee of Rs. 100/- (if applicable) through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI. SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Female candidates are exempted from fee payment.

Submit the application form after verifying all details. Note down the Registration Number generated after successful submission.

Take a printout of the submitted application form/acknowledgement for future reference.
