IBPS RRB Eligibility 2026
Educational Qualification
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose), candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent. Proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB is also required, while computer knowledge is desirable.
For Officer Scale-I, a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline is required. Preference is given to candidates with qualifications in areas such as Agriculture, IT, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
For Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer, candidates require a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks and two years of experience as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
Officer Scale-II specialist posts have separate educational qualifications and experience requirements. Officer Scale-III requires a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks and a minimum of five years’ experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
Age Limit
Age is calculated as on 01 September 2026.

Age relaxation is available for eligible reserved categories as per the notification. SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC-NCL candidates 3 years, and PwBD candidates 10 years of relaxation, subject to applicable conditions.

Office Assistant & Officer Scale-I Main Exam
The Main Examination consists of 200 questions for 200 marks with a total duration of 120 minutes.

Officer Scale-II & Scale-III Exam
Candidates applying for Officer Scale-II and Scale-III will appear for a Single Online Examination, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates.
Negative Marking
There is a penalty for wrong answers. For every incorrect answer, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. No penalty is imposed for questions left unanswered.
