NIT Calicut Apprentice Vacancy 2026
The recruitment includes 19 Graduate Apprentice positions and 11 Technician Apprentice (Diploma) positions, making a total of 30 vacancies.
Graduate Apprentice Vacancies – 19 Posts
The following Graduate Apprentice opportunities are available:
1. Library and Information Science – 4 Posts
Candidates should have either:
- B.Lib.Sc. with 60% marks, completed on or after 1 January 2022; OR
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with 60% marks, completed on or after 1 January 2022, along with M.Lib.Sc.
2. Hotel Management – 1 Post
- Degree in Hotel Management
- Minimum 60% marks
- Qualification must have been completed on or after 1 January 2022.
3. Nursing – 2 Posts
- B.Sc. Nursing
- Minimum 60% marks
- Qualification completed on or after 1 January 2022.
4. General Administration – 12 Posts
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline

- Degree completed on or after 1 January 2022.
Graduate Apprentice Stipend
Selected Graduate Apprentice Trainees will receive a stipend of ₹15,000 per month. Technician Apprentice Vacancies – 11 Posts

- Technician Apprentice Trainees will receive a stipend of ₹12,500 per month.
NIT Calicut Apprentice Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have obtained the prescribed qualification in regular mode on or after 1 January 2022. The qualification should be from a recognized University/Institution in India or a recognized State Board, as applicable. Candidates holding an M.Lib.Sc.
- qualification will be eligible only if their Bachelor's Degree was completed on or after 1 January 2022 with at least 60% marks.
- Candidates who have already entered into an apprenticeship contract with any Government or private organization/institution under NATS are not eligible for this apprenticeship training.

NIT Calicut Apprentice Selection Process
The applications received by NIT Calicut will be scrutinized based on the information submitted by candidates. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on the details provided in their applications.

NIT Calicut Apprentice Stipend Payment
The stipend consists of two components: Government Share and Institute Share.
The Government share, equivalent to 50% of the applicable minimum stipend prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, will be paid directly to the apprentice through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The remaining amount required to make up the total stipend mentioned in the notification will be paid by NIT Calicut as the Institute share.

NIT Calicut Apprentice Training Duration
The apprenticeship training will be for one year. This is a training engagement under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
Candidates should note that completion of the apprenticeship does not provide any right or claim for regular employment or appointment at NIT Calicut.
