The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 06/2026 for recruitment to various Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Graduate posts in Indian Railways. A total of 3,548 vacancies are available for eligible graduate candidates across different RRBs and Railway Zones.  

The online application process begins on 08 October 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications online up to 06 November 2026, 11:59 PM.

RRB NTPC Graduate Vacancy 2026

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced 3,548 vacancies under CEN No. 06/2026 for various Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Graduate posts. The recruitment is being conducted by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.

RRB NTPC Vacancy – Post Wise

Goods Train Manager has the highest number of vacancies with 2,750 posts, followed by Senior Clerk Cum Typist with 371 posts, Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist with 300 posts and Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor with 127 posts.    

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for RRB NTPC Graduate Recruitment 2026 must possess the prescribed minimum educational qualification from a recognized University/Institution on or before the closing date of the online application.

For the notified posts, the minimum educational qualification specified in Annexure A is a Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.  

Candidates who are waiting for the final results of the prescribed qualification on the closing date are not eligible to apply.    

RRB NTPC Graduate Age Limit

The age limit is calculated as on 01 January 2027.

The notification specifies the relevant date-of-birth conditions for the 18–33 age group.    

Age Relaxation

RRB NTPC Salary 2026

The initial pay under the 7th Central Pay Commission is:

  • - Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor: ₹35,400 per month – Level 6
  • - Goods Train Manager: ₹29,200 per month – Level 5
  • - Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist: ₹29,200 per month – Level 5
  • - Senior Clerk Cum Typist: ₹29,200 per month – Level 5

The figures above are the initial basic pay specified in the notification, not an estimate of total monthly take-home salary. 

RRB NTPC Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of:

1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

3. Document Verification

4. Medical Examination

Selection is based on merit through the prescribed recruitment stages. RRB also reserves the right to conduct additional CBTs if necessary.    

Important Update: No Typing Skill Test

For CEN 06/2026, the typing skill test for:

- Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist

- Senior Clerk Cum Typist

has been dispensed with.

However, candidates are expected to have basic computer and adequate typing proficiency. The notification states that proficiency will be assessed after joining, and unsatisfactory performance may affect or delay confirmation or promotion.

RRB NTPC CBT 1 Exam Pattern

The 1st Stage CBT is common for all notified posts.

The first-stage CBT is primarily a screening test, and normalized marks are used for shortlisting candidates for the second-stage CBT.   

RRB NTPC CBT 2 Exam Pattern

Candidates shortlisted for the second-stage CBT are selected based on normalized CBT 1 marks.

The notification states that normally candidates up to 15 times the community-wise vacancies of posts notified against the RRB may be shortlisted for CBT 2, subject to the RRB's provisions.

RRB NTPC Application Fee

The examination fee is:

  • General Category- ₹500
  • Out of this, ₹400 will be refunded, after applicable bank charges, to candidates who appear in the 1st Stage CBT.
  • SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Female/Transgender/Minority/EBC Candidates -₹250
  • The ₹250 fee will be refunded, after applicable bank charges, upon appearing in the 1st Stage CBT.

Fee payment is accepted online only through internet banking, debit/credit cards or UPI.
